I always re-read your site
when I learn new info. Can you please post this because I cannot find
any contact information for Bonnie Smerdon. She was asking about David
Leonard Smerdon. He is from my line and I have quite a bit of information
to give her.
In short... David, son of Leonard Alfred (25th of October, 1908 - July,
1983 in Michigan???) Leonard Alfred was the son of Alfred "Fred"
Murch Smerdon (b. March1876 in Thorold) and Della May Bowman. Fred Smerdon
was the son of James Weeks Smerdon (8 Dec, 1849 Ashburton, Devon, England
- 21 Jan, 1921 Thorold, Ontario Canada) and Elizabeth
Jane Horton. I can go back further on both sides.

Hi Bev,
I found your Smerdon website
today and saw some interesting messages regarding the Smerdon families
of Devon, England and elsewhere. I have been putting together my Wills
family tree for about 40 years and now have it on the net. Amongst many
of my connections to the Wills family are some Smerdon’s that I have
latched onto. There are at the moment 37 of them mostly from the 1700s
. I have found that about a quarter of them married each other ( cousins
and cousins ). I found this as well with my family as many Wills married
Wills so as to keep the wealth in the family. So far I’ve not seen
a cent of it being an Aussie.
